Buses remain off road due to strike in Hoshiarpur

Buses remained off the road as contractual employees of Punjab Roadways in Hoshiarpur, including 95 drivers and 124 conductors, went on an indefinite strike to press for their demands, including regularization of services.

Workers, led by union president Lakhbir Singh and leader of CITU Jagdish Chokha assembled before the bus stand and staged a rally against the state government in support of their demands.

However, private operators and regular staff plied the services.
