Cops delay mishap victim's autopsy due to power cut
The claim of the state government on being power surplus was torn to shreds after the post-mortem of an accident victim could only be done on Saturday as, believe it or not, the Sahnewal police station reeled under an unscheduled power cut on Friday.

Officials at the station said the post-mortem of the deceased Kaka, 37, a resident of Sahnewal, remained pending as they could not prepare the documentation required for the process, as their computers were useless without electricity.
Finally, the body was handed to family members on Saturday after completion of the necessary formalities and post-mortem examination.
Tara Chand, father of the deceased, said, “We had to bear the pain of waiting to even claim the body of our son. The state government infrastructure is reeking.
Finally, we could get the body on Saturday. The government must ensure that there are no cuts at offices that serve the public.”
