DC instructs to show PM speech on teachers' day
Deputy commissioner KK Yadav held a meeting with the officials of the district education department on Tuesday to check the preparations made to show the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the students on September 5, teachers' day.
The students will be shown the live telecast of the speech from Delhi from 3pm. Yadav said the students and teachers had been asked to settle down at 2.30pm and stay for the event till 4.45pm.
The entire event will be telecast on Doordarshan network and broadcast on radio as well. Yadav said panchayats had been asked to arrange for televisions in primary schools. He added that all schools, including government, aided, private and panchayat schools, would show the live speech to the students.
The DC has also asked officials to make arrangements for the students. "The provision of television sets should be according to the students' strength. The team at the block level will check the schools on the day to ensure proper arrangements are made," he said. The DC has also asked for drinking water to be arranged for students.
After the screening, the schools will send a report to the deputy commissioner which will include details of number of students present during the screening, the teachers accompanying them and the model of TV used.
