A debt-ridden panch of Hamrigarh village near here committed suicide by consuming poison on Saturday night.
The victim, identified as Karnail Singh, 45, consumed poison at his house and was rushed to Guru Gobind Singh medical college and hospital in Faridkot where he died.
Investigation officer ASI Darshan Singh at Dialpura police station said that the victim's family members said that he was under debt as he had loans for purchasing a tractor and for the marriage of his.
The body was handed over to the family after postmortem.
