The driver, Jitendra Singh, who was absconding after the gas leak on June 12 night, was arrested on Monday following a tip-off. He told the police that he was not aware that the tanker couldn't pass under the flyover. He said he was on his way to Naya Nangal when the incident took place.

Station house officer of the Doraha police station Rajneesh Sood said the driver fled the scene after the gas leak and was hiding in Ludhiana. Five persons were killed and hundreds hospitalised in the incident.
