DSSO accuses Bilga sarpanch of embezzlement

District social security officer (DSSO) Satish Kapoor has alleged that the Bilga village sarpanch Sukhwinder Kaur is involved in distributing pension to fake beneficiaries.
In a report sent to director social security, woman and child development, he said that on January 9, the panchayat secretary handed over a cheque of Rs 3.90 lakh to the sarpanch for distributing pensions.
The DSSO's report said that the sarpanch enchased the cheque and kept the amount for about one month in her house. The report adds that her husband prepared a list of fake beneficiaries.
It adds that keeping the amount at home was a suspicious act. What was even more suspicious was that the sarpanch was not present during the distribution of the amount.
