Eight-month-old foetus found dumped in Nawanshahr

The foetus of an eight-month-old girl was found dumped at a vacant plot in Thopia village of Balachaur sub-division here on Thursday evening. Wrapped in a polythene bag, the foetus was noticed by some passerby, who then informed the police.

Station house officer (SHO) at the Balachaur police station Prem Singh said that a case had been registered against unidentified woman under Section 318 (concealment of birth by secret disposal of body) of Indian Penal Code.
