Faridkot man held with 4-kg gold

Sashastra Seema Bal ( SSB) personnel have arrested a gold smuggler in Uttar Pradesh’s Sonauli bordering Nepal, and seized 4 kg of the precious metal from him.

As per SSB commandant KS Bankothi, the accused, Arvind Pal Singh, hailing from Faridkot (Punjab), was nabbed at the border checkpost after he was found carrying 4-kg gold worth about `1 crore.

Arvind told interrogators that he had bought the gold from Bangkok and was on his way to Delhi for selling it, the SSB commandant said, adding that he had been handed over to customs officials.
