According to the police officials interrogating the 27-year-old accused, some scratches were apparent on his face. When the police rounded him up for questioning, to distract the police the accused had claimed that he got scratched due to a blunt blade during shaving his beard.

Later, the accused confessed that Heena had attempted to save herself and in the struggle scratched his face with her nails, the police claimed.

On Wednesday, when the bodies of Heena and her mother, Usha Grover (48), were recovered, Rishu was crying profoundly. He had also gone up to the room where Heena's body was lying, and informed the police that 'Babu' was written on the wall of the room with blood. Later, Rishu had also given lead to the police that Babu was a plumber, who used to sexually harass Heena, who had also made a complaint about it.

Taking swift action, police had rounded up Babu on the same day from his house at Chander Nagar and interrogated him, but found nothing. Later, the police started zeroing in on Rishu and cracked the double murder case, the police claimed.

Inspector Brijmohan, SHO, Division Number 3 police station, said the accused had been sent to police remand till May 28.
