Five arrested with drugs in Sangrur

The district police have arrested five people under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) in separate incidents. Two cases were registered in Malerkotla with city police stations 1 and 2.

The district police have arrested five people under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) in separate incidents. Two cases were registered in Malerkotla with city police stations 1 and 2.

In the first incident, the police stopped one Mohd Ashraf near the railway crossing on the Imamgarh Road and recovered 100-gm charas and 500 tablets of alpraquit .05 and registered a case under sections 20, 22, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act.

In the second case, a police party signalled a car (HR 35 F 3534) to stop near the Matoi railway crossing and, on checking, the police found 30 bottles of Rexcof from one Mohd Saleem.

The police have registered a case under sections 22, 61 and 85 the NDPS Aact. In Dhuri, the police arrested Karan Singh and Gurmeet Kaur in separate cases, from Bagrian road and seized 2 kg bhuki from each of them.

A case has registered under sections 15, 61 and 85 the NDPS Act.
