Police officials said the undertrials had been brought from the Faridkot central jail to Moga in connection with different cases, including kidnapping of a minor girl.

Kamaljeet Singh Dhillon, senior superintendent of police (SSP), said, "We have booked Kirpal Singh of Talwandi Bhangarian village (Moga); Kuljinder Singh and Palwinder Singh of Muglani village in Tarn Taran district, Lachhman Dass of Talwandi Mau Bahar in Moga; and Gurdev Singh on the complaint of Sucha Singh, assistant sub-inspector."

The SSP said Kirpal Singh had been booked for allegedly murdering a villager on October 8.

"I have constituted four special investigation teams under the supervision of the deputy superintendent of police for nabbing the four undertrials," he added.
