Foetus of girl child recovered

The police today found a foetus of a girl child believed to be seven to eight months, on banks of Bangla canal in Navi Abadi near here. The foetus was lying packed in a polythene bag on the bank of canal, and was spotted by a youth named Raman Kumar.

A FIR has been lodged against unidentified persons under section 318 of the IPC for concealment of birth by secret disposal of the dead foetus and investigation is on.

The foetus was lying packed in a polythene bag on the bank of canal, and was spotted by a youth named Raman Kumar of Navi Abadi, who was washing his hands from canal water on Sunday morning.

After that, police and doctors reached the spot and took the foetus to civil hospital.

A post-mortem examination was carried at hospital by a medical board of three doctors including Dr Davinder Dhanda, Dr Kuldeep Rai and Dr Joban Rai.
