Fog claims two lives on NH-1 near Murthal

Fog proved fatal on Tuesday for a 60-year-old woman, and for a bus driver in two separate mishaps on national highway-1 in Sonepat district. Sharda Devi of Panchkula reportedly died on the spot after her SUV collided with a stationary truck in an area falling under the Rai police station in Sonepat district.

Fog proved fatal on Tuesday for a 60-year-old woman, and for a bus driver in two separate mishaps on national highway-1 in Sonepat district.

Sharda Devi of Panchkula reportedly died on the spot after her SUV collided with a stationary truck in an area falling under the Rai police station in Sonepat district. She was on the way to Panchkula after returning from Canada on Tuesday morning. Her driver also sustained injuries, who was rushed to civil hospital.

In another accident, Swaran Singh, a bus driver, was killed after his vehicle collided with a canter on national highway-1 under Murthal police jurisdiction.

Police said visibility was low due to fog and as many as 20 mishaps were reported on the NH-1.
