The SAD-BJP government is providing financial assistance to the unemployed youth for self-employment by giving loans on easy instalments and subsidies to set up dairy farming units.

Deputy commissioner Arshdeep Singh Thind said, "The dairy development department in collaboration with Nestle India Pvt Ltd is developing new methods for to improve milk procurement.

A number of youth are being trained at the dairy centre at Gill village under Baghapurana sub-division."
He added that trained youth were being being given a loan of Rs 1 lakh to purchase milch cattle and the state government was also providing a subsidy of Rs 25,000.
He said that 368 young farmers were given 15-day training during 2012-13. The DC also added under the scheme, more than 700 farmers were provided 15-day training, 150 farmers 45-day training and under
SC sub-plan, 150 people were trained and milk producers were also provided one-day training sponsored by cooperative bodies.
