Their department has failed to issue them free-bus-travel vouchers. The finance department has stated in an official communication to the principal secretary of home affairs and transport that on December 17, 2011, the Punjab council of minister had approved the cabinet committee recommendation for letting Home Guards travel for free aboard the roadways buses; and to implement the decision, the action should be quick.

"The transport department is yet to issue notification in this regard, and we have raised the issue with the home department," said Ravinderpal Singh, junior staff officer in Home Guards commander general's office. The transport minister said on Monday that the government would take a decision on the issue.
