As the news spread, people poured into his house to sympathise with his family. His body is expected to reach the village on Wednesday. The news was hidden from Ramesh’s mother, Kailash Kaur, until her elder son, Neeraj Kumar, who is in the army, got home in the afternoon. Ramesh had joined the CRPF about four years ago.
“Ramesh was youngest of five siblings and engaged. We were to finalise the wedding date based on when he’d get a break,” said Neeraj.
