The family, of Bihar, were putting up at a rented accommodation and car owner, Sukhmandar Singh of Bhalur village, used to park his vehicle, a Maruti Zen (DL09CE7283), there as he knew the landlord.

The victims’ father, Amresh Kumar, a labourer, discovered his children lying unconscious in the car, when he returned home from work. “I pulled out both the children out of the car and brought them to the hospital for treatment, where both were declared brought dead,” he said.

Sources said the incident took place when both children gained access to the Maruti Zen, parked in an open space outside their house and did not know how to exit from it, resulting in suffocation.

Smalsar SHO Major Singh said they had sent the bodies for post-mortem and the case was under investigation.
