As per information, a new-born was found lying on a table in front of a shop near the gurdwara. The infant was wrapped in a blanket and had no clothes on her body. She was lying in chilling cold when a person saw her and informed the police immediately.

The police after reaching the spot took the infant to the government hospital, Payal, where she was kept till Wednesday morning. After getting permission from the child welfare committee, the infant was then handed over to Swami Ganga Nand Bhuri Wale International Foundation, Talwandi Khurd.

Secretary of the foundation Kuldeep Singh said the infant was spotted by a person after which the police reached the spot.

"Chairman of the child welfare committee SK Gupta has given the custody of the child to us and we will make all efforts to take care of the infant," said Kukdeep. He said several orphan children were being taken care of by the foundation.
