Khalsa varsity notified, mgmt declares admissions open

After the notification to set up Khalsa University (KU) was issued by Punjab governor on Friday, its management declared admissions open in select research-oriented courses.

After the notification to set up Khalsa University (KU) was issued by Punjab governor on Friday, its management declared admissions open in select research-oriented courses.

In a press release, the Khalsa College Governing Council said the varsity will give boost to higher education and research.

The management also thanked chief minister Prakash Singh Badal for clearing the varsity.

The management said Khalsa College will continue functioning as an autonomous college under Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU).

KCGC honorary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina said admissions for PhD programmes in almost all subjects, including agriculture, engineering, pharmacy, nursing, education, physical education, languages, Sikh history, law, library sciences, medical lab technology and journalism were open from the current academic session. He said MPhil and masters programmes in various disciplines had also been started and more courses will be introduced from the next academic session.
