Khanna murder: 3 more held, Yadu still at large

Three more people were arrested on Tuesday in Khanna murder case in which a youth, Kulwinder Singh of Gosla village, was killed while another, Amrinder Singh, was severely injured in an attack by Youth Akali Dal (YAD) leader Yadwinder Singh Yadu and his accomplices on February 2.

Three more people were arrested on Tuesday in Khanna murder case in which a youth, Kulwinder Singh of Gosla village, was killed while another, Amrinder Singh, was severely injured in an attack by Youth Akali Dal (YAD) leader Yadwinder Singh Yadu and his accomplices on February 2.

Though five accused have been arrested so far, Yadu is still at large.

Informing about the arrests, Harcharan Singh Bhullar, SSP, Khanna said Bhupinder Singh, SHO, City police station, arrested Harjit Singh Minhas alias Golu of Guru Angad Dev Nagar, Khanna, Sarpanch Jatinder Singh Jippy of Grewal Street, Malerkotla road, Khanna and Mandeep Sharma of Malerkotla road, Khanna from Amloh Chowk on Monday.

The accused were remanded to police custody till March 20 after they were produced before the court on Tuesday.

"The accused were arrested while crossing the area," the SSP said, adding that a manhunt has been launched for the arrest of rest of the accused, including Yadu.

Two of the accused, including Akash Kumar alias Kashi and Gurpreet Singh alias Gora were arrested 18 days ago. The police had recovered a car that they had used in crime from their possession. The Khanna Police had booked Yadwinder Singh Yadu and nine others under Section 302, 307, 148,149, 120-B of IPC and 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act on February 2.
