Man shoots at neighbours over petty issue in Ludhiana, 2 hurt

A man and his sister-in-law (brother’s wife) were shot at by their neighbour at Jaswant Nagar area of Salem Tabbri in the city over a petty issue on late Friday night.

Injured Arun Kumar, 42, a resident of Jaswant Nagar of Salem Tabri, and his sister-in-law Poonam, 35, were rushed to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, where their condition was stated to be serious. Accused Satish Kumar escaped after the incident. Local residents said children of both families had a minor scuffle earlier in the day. Accused Satish Kumar came out of his house later with a rifle and opened fire at the victims.

Salem Tabri SHO inspector Amandeep Singh Brar said a hunt is on to arrest the accused. A case of attempt to murder has been registered against him.
