MC term to end on July 20
The term of Barnala municipal council is set to expire on July 20 since elections for the local body were last held on June 30, 2008, and councillors had taken oath on July 21, 2008.

The term of Barnala municipal council is set to expire on July 20 since elections for the local body were last held on June 30, 2008, and councillors had taken oath on July 21, 2008.
The district administration would now appoint the additional deputy commissioner or the SDM as MC administrator on July 19, since the next day is a non-working day. MC elections would be held within six months of the dissolution of previous municipal council.
