Minor boy drowns in canal at Bathinda

A 13-year-old boy was drowned in the Sirhind canal here. Deepak Kumar, son of Kali Das, a resident of Dube Colony, had gone to take bath in the canal on Saturday morning with his friends Dheeraj and Monu.

A 13-year-old boy was drowned in the Sirhind canal here. Deepak Kumar, son of Kali Das, a resident of Dube Colony, had gone to take bath in the canal on Saturday morning with his friends Dheeraj and Monu.

While taking bath, Deepak was swept away. When his friends found him missing, they came to his home and informed the parents. Divers were trying to find the body till late in the evening. Deepak was studying in Government Senior Secondary School at Paras Ram Nagar here.
