Missing girl found dead under mysterious circumstances

A 15-year-old girl of Sultanwind locality, who had gone missing for the past four days, was found dead under mysterious circumstances near the locality on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Prem Sheela.

A 15-year-old girl of Sultanwind locality, who had gone missing for the past four days, was found dead under mysterious circumstances near the locality on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Prem Sheela.

The deceased’s mother, who works at a private school of the locality, on March 18, lodged a missing complaint of her daughter at Sultanwind police station. Acting on her complaint, the police had been searching for the girl since then.

On Monday morning, some sweepers spotted a girl’s body under the bushes and informed the police immediately. Then the police took the deceased’s mother for the identification of the body and found it to be of Prem Sheela.

Police sources said the body had turned blue and there were marks of rope around her neck which suggested that somebody had killed her by pressing her neck. After recording the deceased mother’s statement, a case has been registered at Sultanwind police station under section 302 of the IPC against unidentified person.

Speaking to HT, station house officer (SHO) Manjit Singh said the police are investigating the matter thoroughly.
