“We have launched the special mobile phone application which would enable residents to calculate and pay their property tax. Residents have android smart phones can use this application,” said mayor Kulwant Singh.
Residents can download the application from play store and using their unique identification number (UID) can access all records pertaining to their property. For this, the MC has tied-up with ICICI Bank. Residents can also make manual payment of the tax. The MC is also in talks with other banks to allow residents to pay their tax online by using their smart phone.
The MC is also planning to deliver UID cards on residents’ doorstep. There is a proposal to waive `15 charged for the card.
