A newly-married woman committed suicide at Nathana village by hanging herself with a ceiling fan on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Parminder Kaur, a resident of Lohal Kalan in Sangrur district was married to Amarinder Singh, a police constable from Nathana village about 4 months ago.

The police have reportedly found a suicide note with the body stating that she was under stress due to some issues with her parents. The husband of the woman told the police that his wife used to have bitter exchanges with her parents' family members, but he didn't intervene, assuming it an internal family matter.
