NRMH director examines flaws in civil hospital building
After directions from health minister Surjit Kumar Jyani to fix the flaws found in the building of the Mother-Child Hospital and Lord Mahavira Civil Hospital during his visit, some officials of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Punjab, visited the hospital on Tuesday.

The team comprised NRHM director Dr Gurinder Brar and Punjab Health System Corporation (PHSC) superintendent engineer Gurlal Singh Chahal.
The duo held meeting with the hospital authorities and also visited the places in the hospital to examine the flaws, like dampness emergency ward's wall, slippery floor of Mother-Child Hospital.
The meeting regarding pending projects was also conducted and a deadline was issued to the engineering department of the PHSC to complete them.
Civil hospital senior medical officer Dr RK Karkara said, “The team visited the hospital and identified the flaws in the building, and instructed the department concerned to remove the shortcomings at the earliest.”
