Police send 10 more for drug de-addiction

Continuing with its efforts to help drug addicts leave drugs, the police on Tuesday sent 10 more drug addicts to the deaddiction centre being run by the Red Cross Society near the civil hospital.

Continuing with its efforts to help drug addicts leave drugs, the police on Tuesday sent 10 more drug addicts to the deaddiction centre being run by the Red Cross Society near the civil hospital.

These addicts, who are aged between 17 and 19, had approached the police for help.


However, the doctors at the deaddiction centre found that these youths were not acute addicts.

So, they did not admit them, but prescribed some medicines, and asked them to visit again.

Atam Nagar assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Mukhtiyar Singh said the police had conducted meetings with residents and urged them to come forward for free drug deaddiction treatment.

Following this, several addicts had contacted the police.
