Property dealer booked for rape

Police have booked a 65-year-old property dealer for raping a 37-year-old woman on the pretext of helping her for avail a bank loan for her son. The accused has been identified as Dharampal of Dana Mandi and is absconding.

Police have booked a 65-year-old property dealer for raping a 37-year-old woman on the pretext of helping her for avail a bank loan for her son.

The accused has been identified as Dharampal of Dana Mandi and is absconding.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that she applied for a loan for her son to start his own business. The accused, who was known to her, offered to help her in availing loan and asked her to hand over the documents of her property to him to pursue the loan application.

The woman said instead of helping her get the loan, the accused started abusing her sexually. The accused raped her several times and did not return the documents of her property.

Meharban police station SHO Rajesh Thakur said a case under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) was registered against the accused, who was at large.
