Punjabi University bags inter-varsity shooting championship
The Punjabi University has won the all-India inter-varsity shooting championship by scoring 104 points. The tournament was held in the sports complex of the university. Delhi University was second with 92 points and Panjab University remained at third spot with 60 points.

In men's air rifle individual competition, Manpreet Singh of Panjab University, Chandigarh, bagged the gold medal and Ekambir Singh of Punjabi University got silver medal, whereas Ajaypal Singh was satisfied with bronze.
In men's air rifle team event, host university won the first place. Panjab University and Rajasthan University got second and third place respectively.
In men's air pistol individual competition, Vishal Kumar of Ch. Charan Singh University of Meerut got gold medal, while Akshay Jain of Punjabi University and Ajitesh Kaushal of Panjab University, Chandigarh, got silver and bronze respectively.
In women's air rifle individual event, Juveta of Bangalore University got gold, Sony Chahar of Osmania University and Anjum Moudgill of Panjab University, Chandigarh, bagged silver and bronze respectively.
In the team event of women air rifle, Punjabi University got gold medal, Panjab University and Rajasthan University were awarded with silver and bronze respectively.
In the air pistol individual women competition, Shreya Guvade of Mumbai University got gold medal, Loveleen Kaur of Panjab University got silver and Kirandeep Kaur of GNDU Amritsar bagged bronze respectively.
In air pistol team event women competition, Punjabi University won gold, Ch. Charan Singh University, Meerut, and Mumbai University got silver and bronze respectively.
During the concluding ceremony, Jaspal Singh, vice-chancellor of the university, was the chief guest. He gave away the prizes to the winning shooters from various universities. He also congratulated the shooters for their achievements. He appreciated the sports department for its hard work to uplift the standards of the university sports.
On this occasion, Baljeet Singh Sekhon, observer AIU, presented the tournament report and announced the competition a success. Raj Kumar Sharma presented vote of thanks on the occasion.
