Actress Rakhi Sawant again failed to keep a date with the court on Monday in a case related to “objectionable” remarks by her against Valmiki, the author of the epic Ramayana.

A local court had on Saturday granted anticipatory bail to the actress but directed her to appear on August 7 to furnish fresh bail bonds. Sources said Sawant is in the US and her advocate moved a plea for the extension of her anticipatory bail on Monday. The application for extension of will come up for hearing on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the court again issued non-bailable warrants against Sawant for September 5. Local advocate Narinder Aadiya had filed the complaint against Sawant on July 9 last year accusing her of hurting the sentiments of the Valmiki community.
On March 9, the judicial magistrate’s court had issued non-bailable warrants against Sawant. Following the court orders, In April, a team of Ludhiana Police dispatched to Mumbai to arrest Sawant. The team, however, returned empty-handed.
