Rohtak superintendent of police (SP) Shashank Anand confirmed the deaths of ASI Rohtash and constable Sanjay. “We do not know how the incident took place. An investigation is going on. The bodies will be sent for a postmortem,” he added.

Soon after the incident, Anand reached the police station to supervise the probe. Though the police remained tight-lipped, sources said the firing took place after a scuffle between the two cops.
