Rohtak Gangrape: All eight accused to undergo DNA test

All the eight accused in the gangrape and murder of a Nepalese woman, who were arrested on February 9 from Gaddhi Kheri village in this district, would be taken to Forensic Science Lboratory, Madhuban at Karnal for undergoing DNA test.

The accused -- Santosh Nepali, Rajesh Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Sarwar, Manbir, Sunil Kumar, Pawan and Pramod Kumar - had raped and brutally killed the 28-year-old woman on February 1.

The ninth accused, Sombir Kumar, had committed suicide on February 9 after the eight accused were arrested by the police.

Deputy superintendent of police Amit Bhatia, who heads the special investigation team (SIT) constituted to probe the case, said that the accused, who were under eight-day police custody, would be taken to FSL, Madhuban on Monday and their blood samples would be taken for DNA profiling.

All other evidence recovered during the police custody of the accused would be sent to the FSL, Madhuban, police said.

Notably, police have so far recovered a bike, a mobile set, the deceased's burnt clothes, a condom, stones inserted inside the victim's body and empty liquor bottles evidence in the case.
