Dr Kumar stated this while talking to media persons at his residence here on Wednesday.
He alleged that the BJP-sponsored agenda of the RSS was politically divisive and against the concept of national unity and integrity.

He claimed that this was a serious attempt at polarising the society and the nation, which must be thwarted by secular political parties with all their might.

Dr Kumar said that the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) could not disassociate itself from the divisive agenda of its ally BJP, nor the BJP could disassociate itself from the responsibility of drug-trafficking in the state.

He said that the SAD-BJP alliance came into being due to the political opportunism and it was bereft of any ideological commitment.

The Congress MP said that mis-governance and political victimisation of rivals had defined the past record of the SAD-BJP government.

In response to a query, Dr Kumar said that the Congress would unitedly contest the next Vidhan Sabha elections in Punjab to provide a better alternative to the people of the state.

He asserted that the Congress would ensure overall development of the state and security for all the people. Dr Kumar also greeted the Christian community in the country on the eve of Christmas.
