Punjab Rural Development andPanchayat Minister Sikander Singh Maluka today suspended a Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) posted at Sangrur after finding his alleged involvement in irregularities in utilisation of grants.
Ranjit Singh, posted at Sangrur and also holds the charge of Executive Engineer, has been put under suspension with immediate effect for his involvement in alleged financial irregularities in the utilisation of grants, an official spokesman said here.

During the period of suspension, Singh has been fixed at Chandigarh head-quarter.

Taking serious note of complaints received against Singh, the Minister ordered an inquiry against him by a two-member inquiry committee comprising Senior Executive Engineers.
