SGPC kabaddi team member passes away at Birmingham

Bikramjit Singh Jangi, a member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) kabaddi team currently touring England, passed away at Birmingham after a cardiac arrest. He was doing his daily routine physical exercises when he suffered a cardiac arrest and died, it was learnt. The news of 23-year-old Jangi's sudden death reached the SGPC headquarters here on Wednesday.

He was doing his daily routine physical exercises when he suffered a cardiac arrest and died, it was learnt. The news of 23-year-old Jangi's sudden death reached the SGPC headquarters here on Wednesday.

The kabaddi team is currently on a three-month tour of the United Kingdom on the invitation of GNG kabaddi club of Birmingham. The team had left just a week back for participating in the inter-club kabaddi tournaments in the UK.
The SGPC staff held a condolence meeting to pay respects to the departed soul. SGPC sports secretary Dalmegh Singh highlighted the achievements of the kabaddi player.

Dalmegh alongwith other SGPC officials also visited Beri, near Harchowal in Gurdaspur district, the ancestral village of Jangi, to expresses their condolences with his parents and relatives.

SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar too expressed his condolences and assured the parents of the departed player that the SGPC would be ever ready to provide them assistance.
