Swachh Bharat: Nawanshahr district hospital Punjab’s cleanest, receives Rs 50 lakh award

The award was given by health and family welfare minister Brahm Mohindra at a function held at Mohali.

The Nawanshahr district hospital, which has been adjudged the cleanest hospital in the state under the Kayakalp Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 2017-18, on Tuesday received Rs 50-lakh award for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene.

The award was given by health and family welfare minister Brahm Mohindra at a function held at Mohali.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohindra said this achievement will further encourage and motivate other district hospitals of the state to achieve high standards.

In the category of sub-divisional hospitals and community health centres, Jagraon and Mukerian got the first prize, both with the same percentage of 86.4% points, and won the prize money of Rs 7.5 lakh each.

Mohindra said as many as 40 state hospitals were qualified for getting the prize money as award this year under Kayakalp campaign.
