Three farmers were found burning stubble in their fields by a team of the agriculture department, Bassi Pathana, led by Surinder Singh, agriculture officer (AO) during a raid at Mohadiya village on October 24.

The ADO sent a report to the chief agriculture officer (CAO), Fatehgarh Sahib, Ranjit Singh. In his report the AO said during the raid, the team found farmers Amarjit Singh Fouzi, Jaspal Singh and Gurdev Singh burning the paddy stubble, as they did not have knowledge of ill-effects of the stubble burning.
He further said neither they were even aware of the fact that it was in violation to the district magistrate's orders issued under Section 144 of the CrPC.
The farmers assured the officials that they would not do it again, and thus, were let off with warning.
