Travel agents booked for duping client of R 2 lakh

Two travel agents have been booked in connection with duping a person of Rs 2 lakh.

The travel agents reportedly promised Ranjinder Singh of Islangunj to send him to England but sent him to Singapore.

Police booked the duo after investigating Ranjinder Singh's complaints to the deputy commissioner of police on July 27 last. The investigation, carried out by human trafficking wing of the Ludhiana police, concluded that the duo - Manoj Thappar of new Tagore Nagar and Pawan Kumar of Prem Nagar, had duped Singh.

In his complaint, Rajinder had stated that the duo had promised him that he would be sent to England but was sent to Singapore. When Singh returned from Singapore, the travel agents promised him that they would send him to England soon, but dint come good on their promise, neither returned his money.

A case has been registered against the duo at the Division Number 1 police station under section 420 of the IPC.
