The agitators parked tractor=-trolleys in front of the complex and raised slogans against officials of the district administration. Narinder Pal Singh Khanna, who was leading the protest, said in spite of orders of the Punjab and Haryana high court, Sangrur district panchyat officer had failed to remove illegal encroachments, putting local residents to "a lot of inconvenience".

He threatened of not lifting protest unless and until, any stern action will be taken against erring officials. Deputy commissioner Kumar Rahul, meanwhile, said the matter was in court, therefore nothing much could be commented on the issue. He said Dhuri sub-divisional magistrate has been instructed to look into the matter.
