Notably, six people of Phogat village were killed on January 5 when the autorickshaw they were traveling in collided with a truck. The lone survivor was a minor girl, Anshika.

Satender Kumar, a resident of Phogat village, whose elder brother was killed in the mishap, said, "The residents of Phogat, Sanjarwas, Sanwar, Ranila, Sankror and Bhageshwari villages raised Rs 5.48 lakh for the education and marriages of girls whose parents were killed in the mishap."
