Was attacked for extortion, claims singer Parmish Verma
The singer said that the incident that took place was purely a threat for extortion and he has no enmity with anyone.
A month after Punjabi Singer Parmish Verma,31, was shot at Mohali,he claimed that the attack on him was just for extortion, here on Sunday.

In his first Facebook post regarding the attack, the ‘Gaal ni kadni ’ fame-singer claimed, “There is something I wanted to clear the air about. The incident that took place was purely a threat for extortion. I have no enmity with anyone.”
“I have never been involved directly or indirectly with the people. I am falsely being associated with by certain media and social media channels,” reads the post further.
Thanking his followers, he said that he was recovering quickly.
“It is my heartfelt appeal to not drag anyone’s family or any of their family members into this. Families are valued and treasured by everyone alike. It can be extremely tormenting for a family to go through times like these. Please do not treat them unjustly. I don’t want any family to endure what my family has. I pray no other mother suffers like mine has,” he said.
Within four hours, the Facebook post has got more than 61, 000 likes, 1,300 shares and 4,000 comments.
Verma and his friend Kulwant Singh Chahal were shot at in Mohali on April 14 when they were returning from an event in Chandigarh. The police probe had also suggested that the singer was getting ransom calls.
Different gangs of Punjab had claimed the responsibility for the incident. One of the gangsters, Dilpreet, had posted on his Facebook account, “I, Dilpreet Singh Dhahan, want to tell everyone that I’m behind the shooting of Parmish Verma.”
