Woman delivered baby in 'Ambulance 108'

Health department's '108 ambulance' service was no less than a mobile labour room for a woman, who delivered her baby in the ambulance on her way to hospital on Friday.

Parmila, a resident of Kotla Dadheri village near Mandi Gobindgarh, was on her way to be admitted to the Mandi Gobindgarh civil hosptial for delivery, when she delivered her baby in the ambulance, while it had to make a stop at a railway crossing. She gave birth to a boy. The woman and child were later admitted to the hospital where both were said to be safe.
