Badal further demanded justice for the state on various matters such as the issue of state capital, Punjabi-speaking areas and Sutlej-Yamuna Link canal (SYL).

Referring to BJP national president Amit Shah and Union finance minister Arun Jaitley, Badal said Punjab did not want any compensation but only “ insaaf” (justice).

Badal, who was addressing a gathering to celebrate 50th anniversary of the Punjabi Suba, said Punjabis had always been ready to sacrifice for the country. But, in return, had faced only but discrimination.
