A youth alleged to be a drug smuggler died in police custody here under suspicious circumstances on Saturday.
The 32-year-old Chamkaur Singh, who was arrested from Khosa Pando village on Friday with 1.5 kg opium, was found lying unconscious in police lock-up on Saturday morning, a police officer said.
He was taken to the Civil hospital here, where the
doctos declared him brought dead, he added.
A three-member doctors panel has been constituted to conduct post mortem to ascertain the cause of the death, he said.
