A division bench of acting chief justice PK Mohanty and justice Ananda Sen observed that the city’s present ambience, especially its smooth, disciplined traffic and cleanliness, should not be discontinued in future.

The bench said, “Court would take suo moto action if the existing system was disturbed.”

The bench conveyed its observations to advocate general Binod Poddar, representing the state. Poddar, however, informed the court that government was equally serious over the issue and some modalities would definitely be sketched out to keep the city clean and maintain its smooth traffic.
