Now Priya Prakash Varrier’s co-star Roshan Abdul Rahoof becomes a sensation, wants to have dinner with SRK
Oru Adaar Love actor and Internet sensation Roshan Abdul Rahoof talks about his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan and how he never misses any of King Khan’s films.
Roshan Abdul Rahoof, along with Priya Prakash Varrier, has made his way into the hearts of millions, overnight. After all, he is the boy who made Priya wink in the song from Omar Lulu’s Oru Adaar Love. While Roshan might have got a million admirers of his own, he adores and is inspired by none other than Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
“Shah Rukh Khan is my inspiration. I am a huge fan and have watched all his movies. My favourite is Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995). I don’t remember how many times I have watched it. I want to meet him and would love to have dinner with him someday. It’s my dream,” says the 19-year-old, who is making his debut with the Malayalam film.
Much like Shah Rukh, Roshan also wants to become the king of romance. “Exploring different characters and genres is currently on my mind. But I want to do a lot of romantic films,” says the young actor, who is also a fan of the Malayalam film star, Mammootty.
Roshan adds that since the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi went viral, his phone has not stopped ringing, his mailbox has been flooded with messages, and he gets mobbed every time he steps out of his house.
“We never expected so much hype. I am getting so much love from everywhere that I don’t know how to handle it. My family is very happy and is wondering how all this can happen overnight,” he laughs, adding that his friends are also excited about his popularity and have congratulated him for the same.
On how he discovered that the song has become a rage, the second year BCA student from Kerala says, “It was my friends who first told me that our video has gone viral and people online are sharing it.
Talking about Priya, he adds, “We are the best of friends and our bond is getting stronger by the day. She is the best co-star and it’s wonderful to work with her. We often fight and compete a lot, but at the end of the day, we understand each other well.”
Interestingly, Roshan and his elder brother Raees Abdul Rahoof had participated in a dance reality show last year and came in third. After the show he auditioned for Oru Adaar Love, which is set in a school and has five lead pairs. “I know hip-hop, kathak, contemporary, popping and locking… I am passionate about dance and acting. Along with my studies, I would now want to concentrate on my career,” he shares.
