Albert theatre: Kabali frenzy from ground zero in Chennai
The frenzy about Kabali reaches a crescendo. At ground zero in Chennai, fans can’t wait to meet their hero. A report.
If it is the day a Rajinikanth film is releasing, it can’t just be about the ‘business of cinema’. It has to be about the madness, craze for a superstar, music, dance, and tickets frenzy....
Scenes from the First Day First Show (FDFS) at the famous Albert theatre in Chennai were one of anticipation in the midst of rivalry and madness. After all, it is said to be superstar Rajinikanth’s favourite theatre!
There was, however, a minor break from tradition -- the FDFS show was postponed to 11 am because the theatre owner didn’t pay the screening rights of Rs 45 lakhs to KS Thanu, Kabali’s producer.

Actor Dhanush and Rajinikanth’s younger Soundarya were present at the theatre to watch the 1 pm show with the fans. Dhanush is married to Aishwarya, the star’s elder daughter.
