Aruvi made me laugh and cry, says superstar Rajinikanth
Superstar Rajinikanth was impressed with the film Aruvi, and called director Arun Prabhu Purushothaman to appreciate his film.
Critically-acclaimed Aruvi is the latest Tamil film to earn the praise of superstar Rajinikanth. After impressing critics and audiences alike, the film has wowed Thalaivar who called and spoke to the film’s director for 20 minutes. In a statement, Rajinikanth said, “Aruvi made me laugh, cry and think about many things in life. This film will be much talked about for years.” The team is exhilarated over this unconditional appreciation from Rajinikanth.
Aruvi released in cinemas last week after a successful festival run. Having made it at several film festivals across the globe, including the prestigious Shanghai International Film Festival, the film is a socio-political drama centered on a girl, played fittingly by Aditi Balan, who finds it difficult to fit into the society which is not willing to accept her the way she is. The film has been unanimously approved by audiences across all sections. At the box-office, the film has shown terrific hold and the numbers have multiplied on a daily basis.
Directed by Arun Prabhu Purushothaman, Aruvi is undoubtedly one of the best Tamil films of the year. What the film succeeds in achieving - while being crowd-pleasingly entertaining and emotionally moving -- is that it never goes overboard in making its point.
