Hansika Motwani-starrer Aambala in legal trouble over title
A petition has been filed in Madras HC against the makers of Tamil actioner Aambala by aspiring filmmaker Harikrishnan, who claims he had already registered the title.
A petition has been filed in Madras High Court against the makers of Vishal-starrer Tamil actioner Aambala by aspiring filmmaker Harikrishnan, who claims he had already registered the title.
In his petition, Harikrishnan has urged the court to stall the film's release, slated for Thursday.
"I had registered the title Aambala with the Tamil Film Producers Council for my story. I have now learnt that the makers of Vishal's film have used the same title without even seeking my permission. Hence, I've taken the legal recourse," Harikrishnan said.
Meanwhile, advance bookings for Aambala have already started in major cinema halls across Tamil Nadu.
Directed by Sundar C, Aambala featuring Hansika Motwani, is produced by Vishal's home banner Vishal Film Factory.
A source close to Vishal said that they are going ahead with the film's release, rubbishing allegations about the title.
